BRAND NEW YEARS FROM NOW: USE A VEHICLE COVER TO PROTECT THAT PRIZED 4-WHEEL POSSESSION

After, perhaps years, of saving your money, you finally purchased that dream car of yours. You probably thought of everything to protect that little investment of yours. Did you remember the car cover? If you’re not able to keep it in a garage of some type, you’re going to need some type of protection investment such as a car cover. A car cover will protect both the outside and inside of your vehicle.

A car cover is still a wise investment, even if you have a garage and don’t drive the vehicle often. How so? It keeps the dust particles from getting on your vehicle and ruining the paint. It also protects the vehicle from the seasons such as snow in the winter months and the summer sun’s damaging UV rays. These things can seriously impede the look of the vehicle’s finish.

What To Look For In A Car Cover: Durability and Price

When you’re out shopping for that ever-important car cover, you want to look for water repellent products, not waterproof. Why? It boils down to breathability.  There will be times that water will become trapped under the car cover. If it’s not breathable, the car cover will begin to rot and potentially ruin the vehicle paint job due to the formation of condensation.

Keep in mind that waterproof covers are less expensive than water repellent covers, which is misleading to consumers, as they think waterproof covers are better in protecting their vehicles. If you really want to protect your vehicle from the elements and other damaging factors, you need to steer clear of inexpensive waterproof car covers and choose from the water repellent ones only.

If you want the best protection for your prized possession, consider getting a customized car cover. Yes, this will cost you additional money. However, it will be made to fit your vehicle. It offers both convenience in using it and protection from the elements.

Regardless of what kind of vehicle cover you get, the cover price will depend largely on the kind of vehicle you own. Large covers, such as those for SUVs and trucks, will be more expensive than coupe and sedan covers. You might pay as little as $75 to more than several hundred dollars for a high quality vehicle cover. If you choose to go the custom car cover route, you’ll pay more money than if you purchased one that was ready-made.

A cover is the inexpensive option to protecting your vehicle. It doesn’t matter if you choose a ready-made cover or decide to have one custom made, you’ll be glad to do so five years from now when your vehicle still looks like it has just been driven off the lot!
